Having grown up on the family farm in the Hadhams, working in Hertford feels like home to me. I love the wide, open countryside and I continue to enjoy a number of outdoor pursuits. You’ll often find me clay pigeon shooting or out on my mountain bike enjoying the fresh air, whenever my wife and two young children permit!

Having attained a law degree from Queen Mary University of London I decided to dip my toe into the legal market and I spent two years working for a communications company as a paralegal within its vibrant in-house legal team. Much of my time was spent assisting on large scale litigation and preparing the company for its initial public offering on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, but I also worked closely with the directors of the company on a number of other commercial projects.

It was during this time that I found my passion for acting on behalf of corporate clients, ensuring they received an effective and efficient service that met the commercial needs of their business. So, following my time in-house, I decided to complete the academic stage of my training with BPP in the City before making the move into private practice to complete my training contract. The move was a canny decision on my part as I was very fortunate to meet my lovely wife who was also training to become a solicitor with the same firm at the time!

I moved to Attwaters after nearly eight years of working in another well-respected regional law firm and my decision to move on was inspired by the strength and growth of Attwaters following the successful merger of Attwaters and Jameson Hill in 2012, which brought together two well respected law firms to create the regional heavyweight that you see today.

I now head up the firm’s Company and Commercial Team and deal with all aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, with a particular specialism and focus on private equity finance, mergers and acquisition work, reorganisations, joint ventures and management buy-outs.

I am passionate about what I do and getting to know my clients is key to this, always going an extra mile to listen to what exactly it is that they need, learning from them about their business and then looking to add real value to help them achieve their goals.
