I was born and grew up in Orpington the edge of a London Borough and lived within walking distance of the open Kent countryside. Having moved clockwise around London, Welwyn Garden City has been home for the last 30 years and I still live within walking distance of open countryside.

I met my wife while studying for my Law Degree in Cardiff and have been married over twenty five years and have two children.

I joined what was then Jameson and Hill in 1992 from a London firm where I had gained experience of both commercial and private client work – mainly for company executives. I have been the partner in charge at the firm’s Ware office since 1995.

I act for individuals, businesses and charities mainly in commercial property matters but also in relation to business structures, the protection of different parties interests in a business and on business sales and acquisitions.

Unusually for a commercial lawyer I have extensive experience in the use of trusts and knowledge of personal tax matters enabling a holistic approach when advising individuals, partners or shareholders in relation to business succession and retirement planning issues.

My aim is always to understand what is really important for my clients and then to explain the issues and options in such a way that the client is able to assess the advantages and disadvantages, risks and rewards of their situation, before making a commercial decision they are happy with.

In my hours outside work I am involved in the management of a Community Centre and in the leadership of a vibrant local church which is heavily involved with its local community.

I also love fireworks and have become a qualified freelance Pyro Technician working on firework displays large and small for all sorts of events and at all times of the year.
